Pavel Ivlev continues to demand that Aven and Fridman’s sanctions be lifted. This time, Brussels

Nearly three hundred opposition leaders took part in the «Brussels Dialogue — Roundtable of EU and Democratic Russia Representatives,» a significant and representative event held by the European Parliament on June 5–6, 2024. Pavel Ivlev, a former Yukos attorney who lobbies for Russian oligarchs Mikhail Fridman and Petr Aven, was one of them.

The gathering in Brussels might have been tainted by scandal, according to our informants in New Jersey. Petr Aven’s objections concerning Pavel Ivlev’s revelation of details about negotiations at the oligarch’s Latvian estate — which, incidentally, is subject to European Union sanctions — accompanied the visit.

In addition, a noisy argument between the lobbyist, his wife, and his lover was escalating into a scandal. But more on that later.

Natalya Ignatyeva and Her Penguin (Pavel Ivlev)

A major scandal broke out following the release of our media resource regarding lobbyist Pavel Ivlev’s actions on behalf of Mikhail Fridman and Petr Aven – two oligarchs, that have not yet condemned Vladimir Putin’s attack on Ukraine.

«Former Yukos lawyer Pavel Ivlev corrupted Leonid Volkov with money from the Alfa Group leadership in order to lobby for the removal of sanctions from Alfa.»

According to the Sota media, Leonid Volkov signed two requests asking the removal of sanctions against Alfa Group executives, specifically Mikhail Fridman.

After the first such appeal, which Volkov signed on behalf of the Anti-Corruption Foundation, was published by Alexei Venediktov, the politician resigned from his post.

Volkov never admitted signing the second appeal, despite the fact that the paper was published with his signature. In his most recent interview, the politician said that he «tried to play the role of a grey cardinal and lost.»

In response to a comment request, Volkov blocked and reported a Sota journalist as a spammer.

Ivlev also failed to respond to Sota.

In turn, the former editor-in-chief of Echo of Moscow, but still an active political player, Alexei Venediktov, shared Sota’s article on Twitter. He noted that he discussed the publication about lobbyist Pavel Ivlev with Petr Aven and Mikhail Fridman. Both oligarchs were laconic in their correspondence, calling the accusations «nonsense.» However, Venediktov, an experienced media figure, did not anticipate the oligarchs to make honest confessions.

Petr Aven’s Latvian Estate

As it is known, Latvian citizen Petr Aven owns real estate properties in Latvia. One of them is a vast complex that has been recognised as an architectural marvel.

It is the territory of more than 13 hectares in the Lazdona parish of the Madona region, 162 km from Riga, in a picturesque forest corner between two lakes, the large and small Klaugu, that Pavel Ivlev visits repeatedly.

Ivlev’s visit to the estate, acquired in 2011 through the company Klauģu muiža, was intended to remain private. The money was given to the lobbyist in cash.

As we have already reported, Pavel Ivlev owns property in Jurmala and Narva. Ivlev struck up a friendship with Petr Aven when he was managing partner of ALM — the law firm of the current chairman of the state corporation VEB.RF, Igor Shuvalov (sanctioned by 27 countries for supporting the invasion of Ukraine).

It should be mentioned that the article concerning Pavel Ivlev was shared by acclaimed journalist Bozhena Rynska. She accompanied the repost with a comment:

«Ivlev is regularly filing requests to lift the sanctions against Aven and Fridman. Well, okay. These two titans — Fridman and Aven — for some reason believe that Ivlev can lift the sanctions from them in America and Latvia, although all my serious contacts are confident that Ivlev does not have such resources. Much to my regret, some of my acquaintances trust Ivlev, and I would like to draw attention to the moral character of this person,» wrote Bozhena Rynska.

Furthermore, she noted:

«Ivlev is afraid of losing 50% of his fortune — his wife Katya has an American passport, a divorce would be a financial catastrophe for him. Ivlev is terribly afraid of his wife. He doesn’t even invite girls to her level of countries. However, he doesn’t deny his adventures at every opposition forum or conference,» she continued.

Pavel Ivlev attended the conference in memory of the lawyer and human rights activist Yuri Schmidt with his mistress — the little-known actress Vlada Makeychik, as recorded by a photojournalist.

According to our American sources, Ivlev’s wife, Ekaterina (Guryanova), accepted a lie that Makeychik was merely an ideological ally for the freedom of Ingermanland. Nonetheless, another of his mistresses, Natalia Ignatyeva, began to threaten to expose.

— These relationships are at least twelve years old, however they may have ended a few years ago due to the advent of a new permanent lover from Pavel’s emigrant background.

Natalia then made an ultimatum, demanding that the quiet Aven-Fridman lobbyist leave his family. But Pavel is a sneaky bastard: he didn’t divorce his wife and kept Natalia around. However, publicity threw a wrench in everything, according to our source in the United States, who promised explosive disclosures soon. After the first publication, Natalia closed her Instagram account — malishun_1. However, both controversies — lobbying for Aven-Fridman’s interests and mistresses — persist, and we will provide more information in future articles.
